M&C Saatchi takes off with Wotif win

M&C Saatchi has won appointment to Wotif Group to work with Australia’s leading online travel site Wotif.com, following a pitch.

The first external agency Wotif has used for several years, M&C Saatchi has been brought on board to "breathe new life" into the brand. 

Wotif Group’s General Manager, Marketing Michael Betteridge said: “Wotif Group is a global travel company and M&C Saatchi is a recognised global thought leader and together we make a powerful creative team.”

“For some months now our teams have been jointly collaborating to explore how M&C Saatchi’s big, bold and brave ideas could further strengthen our iconic Wotif.com brand.”

M&C Saatchi CEO Jaimes Leggett said: “Wotif Group is a dynamic and innovative business. We are thrilled to have this opportunity to partner with them.”

Wotif Group is yet to reveal further details about the creative direction or planned initiatives, but will share more information about forward plans in coming weeks.

The Wotif win comes in the midst of a new business spree from M&C Saatchi that includes appointment to IAG insurances brands NRMA, SGIOI and SGICLexus and Cricket Australia in recent weeks.

M&C Saatchi Melbourne is joyously waving its bat in the air following its appointment to the prestigious and much sought after Cricket Australia business following a pitch.

The appointment of comes after a three month, four-way pitch process in which agencies were challenged to come up with a concept of how to help grow the game of cricket in Australia. M&C Saatchi Melbourne collaborated closely with M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment to knock the brief out of the park.

As full service creative and strategy lead for Cricket Australia, M&C Saatchi Melbourne will be tasked with introducing cricket to new audiences and promoting all forms of our national game leading into the 2014-15 cricket season and the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup being co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

Cricket Australia Executive General Manager, Media, Communications & Marketing Ben Amarfio said: "the team at M&C Saatchi Melbourne exhibited a real passion for cricket and this, combined with a strong creative response, won them the business". 

"We look forward to working with M&C Saatchi Melbourne to attract both existing and new audiences to cricket in the 2014-15 season and beyond.”

Following strong collaboration throughout the pitch process, M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment will increase its presence in Melbourne to work closely with M&C Saatchi Melbourne.

M&C Saatchi Melbourne Director of Growth Strategies Catherine Graham said: "Cricket Australia is a huge Australian brand and one we are delighted to be working with".
